HOW TO HELP US AND... HELP YOURSELF?
Nature, environment and vegetation are important topics that the Portofelice is committed to respect. Through initiatives aimed to make its guests aware of that respect and the protection of the world around us, this symbol was chosen because the rainbow contains all the colors of our environment. The butterfly is a symbol of transformation that perfectly expresses the importance of recycling. By recycling our rubbish, we can transform them into something new and useful!
Our environment is everyone’s home!
In these few pages we would like to remind you of something that is simple and yet fundamental for conserving the environment. We are sure that you, an “outdoor life” lover, will contribute to improving our quality of life and the future of our children. The Portofelice beach vacation resort is committed to a conscious environmental management, entailing differentiated waste collection, the use of recycled materials, energy and water saving together with the information we give our guests on how to avoid increasing the atmospheric pollution.

Sorting your waste is a gesture of civility!
Throwing an object in a trash must become a conscious action!
Why sorting waste? The recycling of paper, glass, plastic and aluminium can save entire woods, energy resources and even mountains!
WHAT CAN BE DONE WITH RECYCLED MATERIALS?
Recycled plastic can be used to build playgrounds, to manufacture hoses, rugs, sleeping bags, bottles and containers. One ton of newspapers saves 17 trees. Recycled cardboard, paper and newspapers can be reused for manufacture new boxes, stationery, fabric, paper towels, toilet paper, egg cartons, napkins etc. Recycling aluminium contributes to saving 95% of the energy required to produce new cans. Recycled glass is reused many times to make new glass containers. The recycled materials are not in any way inferior in quality to the originals.
SAVE WATER
The most precious resource for all living creatures: we live in an area where water is plentiful, but not unlimited. This is why water must not be wasted and, above all, must not be polluted. We therefore kindly ask you the following:
• do not leave water running unnecessarily;
• do not leave the water fountains around the campsite running;
• ensure that faucets are closed properly;
• notify the Management of any leaks or faults;
• restrict showering time to the strictly necessary;
• do not disperse soapy water on the ground or pour it down the drains: special sinks are provided for this purpose in the shower facilities.
SAVE ELECTRICITY
In order to work, everything needs electricity: producing it, trasporting it and consuming it takes a heavy toll on our environment. Improper use must be avoided at all costs! We therefore kindly ask you:
• not to waste hot water, it contains energy;
• use electrical appliances (air conditioning, radio/TV, etc.) only when necessary;
• switch off unnecessary lights.
RESPECT NATURE!
Man belongs to the environment; who destroys the environment damages him/herself. Keeping the environment clean and liveable is everybody’s duty. How can we conserve it?
• by sorting waste;
• by disposing of it in the correct containers;
• by not discarding waste outside the containers and by using another trash can if the nearest one is full;
• by disposing of wet and dry waste in well sealed bags;
• by disposing receipts, ice-cream wrappers, paper handkerchiefs and cigarettes in the correct containers rather than throwing them on the ground;
• by using environment friendly products where possible.
Respect the environment; you respect yourself and protect your children!
